Our podcast is back with Season 2, featuring entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem builders who challenge the status quo.
Disrupt the Continuum brings you conversations with innovators and thought leaders who make the entrepreneurial ecosystem here in Tennessee flourish. This season we’ll explore our state’s unique, thriving communities and hear about the programs and people that make LaunchTN a vital resource.
Here’s a sneak peek at just a few of the perspectives you can look forward to in Disrupt the Continuum, powered this season by Pinnacle Financial Partners.
Marcus Cobb, CEO and cofounder of Jammber, a Nashville startup that streamlines rights and royalties processes for musicians, will discuss the value of learning from missteps and opening up about those experiences with your community.
“When you make mistakes as an entrepreneur, the cost of failure is so high sometimes you feel like you’re alone in those mistakes,” he said. “I think it’s really important to create a dialogue around that.”
We’ll also be joined by Alex West Steinman, CEO and cofounder of The Coven, a Minneapolis nonprofit connecting women, non-binary, and trans people with the economic resources and networks they need to grow. She’ll share her thoughts on allowing entrepreneurship to be a learning process and maintaining a big-picture perspective.
“Nobody really knows what they’re doing, and so giving yourself a little bit of grace to make mistakes, to not finish the to-do list — cause that’s not the goal,” she emphasized. “The goal isn’t to check everything off on the list … it’s about making true impact.”
Cam Doody is president and founder of Chattanooga startup Bellhops, the fastest-growing moving company in the US. He has raised more than $55M in venture capital, and was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year from his alma mater, Auburn University. He’ll share how they’ve grown and lessons learned along the way.
“We’ve pretty much failed in every way possible to get to where we are. And I think that’s just part of it. I mean, in the beginning, you just have to be delusional enough to take on a billion-dollar market.”
