Get to know the startups and entrepreneurs changing the Tennessee landscape — designing innovative solutions, creating jobs, and building communities. This week, meet GoCheck Kids, an app that detects risks of vision impairments.
Give us your elevator pitch.
GoCheck Kids is a pediatric iPhone-based app that detects risks of vision impairments, the №1 disabling condition in the United States. The app produces immediate results that are used to protect kids’ vision.
Briefly, what inspired you to start your company?
GoCheck Kids was born after the realization that kids everywhere, regardless of socioeconomic status, were not receiving the vision testing they need because the existing solutions were far too expensive and difficult to use. Many of life’s outcomes are based on seeing well at a young age — from confidence, relationships, learning, and eventual educational and financial results. GoCheck Kids is here to make sure everyone has the same chance at seeing everything life has to offer.
What’s your secret sauce?
GoCheck Kids lives by five principles:
Purse The Truth, Customer Obsession, Grit Wins, Thrive Together, and Transform Healthcare.
